[Extendflash] Convert to compiled clip

Since a compiled clip is nothing more than a zip file with stuff in it I’m
assuming it would be fairly simple to render the swf and xml files, possibly
even export a bitmap for use as the icon, and just have the stuff saved onto
a directory using the file access api.

The next part could be tricky though because I’m assuming that taking a
directory and converting it into a zip file would be something more or less
dealing with the operating system. But if there’s any way for flash to
communicate with the os, so as to send it a command that coverts x directory
to zip and renamed it to blah.swc and the result would be a compiled clip.

Another assumption is that if you can figure out which dll file flash itself
uses to perform a compile, you may be able to just use flash’ c-level
extensibility features to communicate with that dll. I’m no expert on this
stuff , but that’s just a though, hope it helps in some way.

Subject: [Extendflash] Convert to compiled clip

Just wondering if anyone has managed to write a jsfl command to convert a
movieclip in the library to a compiled clip? The action has a red cross in
the History panel so I’m assuming there is no jsfl command for it.

Thanks,
Martin
